SWIFT Header Settings

Upload your logo through ftp or your hosting dashboard or WordPress uploader and past the url in this field.

Example: http://yousite.com/logo.png (If you uploaded your logo in the root of your site)

Do not use a logo wider than 940px and don’t confuse logo with header background.

Custom search code

I use this option of SWIFT to add my AdSense search code (Can be used with any search provider), the result of using this option is shown below.

If nothing is entered in this option, default WordPress search function will be used.

Typical settings for adsense search code should look like this, make sure you select the first search box style and text box length should be 19 characters.

Then we have “Disable RSS links” and “Disable search box”, these are self explanatory, I’m not going to elaborate them here.

The section below is versions of SWIFT  lower than 5.50

Top navigation bar and Bottom navigation bar (This section is removed since, v5.50. Use WordPress menus)

You can choose what you want to display in the navigation here. Screenshot below should make it clear

Links to be appended to the navigation bar showing the list of pages/categories (This section is removed since, v5.50. Use WordPress menus)

Next you have the option to append links to both the navigation areas, can be used to link to your other sites or add some sponsored links. I use it to add the link to our forum. See the screenshot below.

Selecting Pages and Categories to be displayed in navigation (You no longer need this in version 5.50)

Here you can select the pages and categories you want to be displayed in the navigation menu. Child pages and categories will be shown as drop downs, you should select what pages and categories you want to be shown in the navigation. If you don’t select the parent category, then all it’s child categories will be shown separately, same applies to pages.

You can use the plugins My Page Order and My Category Order to change the order of categories and pages, you don’t have to make any edits to the template, SWIFT has built in support for these two plugins.

To save your selection you should click “Click to save page selection”/ “Click to save category selection”

Note: You will loose any unsaved changes when you click any of the above said two buttons. I know that sucks, I promise you that it’s gonna be better in future. Till than bear with it.

  4. Hey! I love the theme but I think there might be a bug. Every time I hit the button “Upload” to upload my Logo, nothing happens. I tried uploading my Logo to my wp-content/uploads/images file and I tried just hitting the button and nothing happens. When I hit “Upload” for my favicon, it brings up my computer’s image folder and allows me to select an image. So, why is the Logo not working? I tried switching custom colors off as well with no luck.

    1. I have also tried uploading the theme to an entirely new site and not changing anything. no luck still. I have the Basic version but I was really hoping to like it and buy the full version because I like the shortcodes and page templates.

  5. I’d like to place to my category’s in one the main menu which I have done, but I have a problem that I can’t seem to be to figure out how to have the child category’s show underneath when you hover over the top. Can I trouble you for some help in this regard.

    Cheers

  6. Great template! I am really loving it, but I must have drop down menus in the navigation and nothing is working. I’ve tried numerous changes to the code, but the formatting won’t stick. The above plug-ins for My Category Order and My Page Order are essentially useless for the nav bar in the header. My Parent categories populate without issue, but no Child Categories will populate. Ideally I’d like to populate Child Categories and pages under a Parent Category. I really need drop down categories to adequately manage the volume of the content I’m building. Please help! I really want to keep this template. Many thanks!

      1. Hey Satish,

I inherited a website from my predecessor, and it looks good with your theme! One problem… I want to link the header to the shopping cart rather than the homepage. I plan on putting a little bag image on the header, in an attempt to fake it into looking like a shopping cart widget there. I can’t figure out how to do that. Any chance you can help? I would be glad to pay you for a quick fix!

        Much Love,

        Sarah

  9. I am starting to get the hang of this great theme! one question, how I replace that post graphic with something else? The graphic that appears above each post in the list… it is the black and white version of the swift color logo.

  10. I’m using your latest theme, but I can’t seem to find anywhere to add a navigation menu at the top of the site.

    I don’t understand this:

      1. Hi Satish,
First of let me congratulate you on your wonderful creation. I have incorporated your theme to my blog. Looks awesome. Only thing that I couldnot success is to show navigation buttons on header (Pages). Now pages are shown in sidebar instead of header. Am I missing some settings?

        Naveen

      2. Hi Satish.

        Great work with the theme.

I have a similar problem to Sue.

Every time I load the Swift theme, the menu ends up as text links one above the other in a vertical, unformatted list. I do as you say and go into Appearance>Menus and choose the pages I want in the menu but they never come out as the neat horizontal bar as they’re meant to in the Swift options design.

        Any suggestions?

        Many thanks.
