    Website grader not recognizing blog

    Hi Satish,

I've used http://websitegrader.com on recommendation from my hosting company, and it says it can't detect my blog. Do you know why that is? It's only picking up the three pages I have.

It says "Blog not found" so I went here: http://blog.grader.com

It says "We had a problem reading your blog's feed.

Here is the Feed URL we tried to read: http://allthatcommunication.com/feed/"

Help? Also I know I'm not getting picked up on Google at all from looking at stats. I installed All in One SEO pack yesterday and did all my keyowrds etc on each page so hopefully that will start changing? Not sure if that has to do with the blog grader not detecting it.

Your feed is not formatted properly, try this feedburner plugin
    http://www.google.com/support/feedbu...n&answer=78483

Let me know if that helped.

    For the seo,
Goto general settings->privacy and see if your blog is blocked for search engines.

    Install google sitemaps plugin,
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...map-generator/

Also comment on other blogs with your blog url.

Wait for one week, google will slowly pick your blog.

I tried the Feedburner plugin. It says it's only compatible up to 2.5 and I have 2.9. I uploaded it anyway (since it said it just wouldn't pick up tags, or something) but when I activate it says:

"The plugin does not have a valid header."

On Feedburner.google.com under "My Feeds" it shows how many subscriptions I have, so it must be working, right? I reloaded the code yesterday; maybe something was wrong before. I got four new subscribers since then.

Privacy is set properly to be visible to everyone (good to check though).

I like the sitemaps plug in but it looks pretty complicated, not just an easy installation, from what I read. So I'll have to take my time with that one.

My hosting company says the reason my blog isn't getting picked up by Website grader is because it doesn't say "blog" somewhere in my URL, which sounds like a load of crap to me Does anyone here use Fatcow? A friend recommended them but their support is terrible.

All my traffic is coming from other blogs where I've commented or done a review, like this one, which really is good and maybe helpful to people here:

    http://allthatcommunication.com/2010...logging-guide/

Also Facebook, some forums, etc so I know I'm doing that part right. I'm on Twitter and Buzz too so that helps.

    Thanks.

Looks like I double posted somehow, sorry.

Anyway, looks like Sitemap is easier than I thought. Instructions said I had to write some files, or something. But it looks like it's all set up properly through the plug-in installation. I'm verified now on google, yahoo, and bing (did all the authentication stuff) so I think things should be good. I checked if I'm recognized in a search with site:myurl.com etc and that looks good. Won't be able to see if Google is crawling and whatever else on Google Webmaster for maybe 24 hours, looks like. But I think this will help a lot.

    Thanks!
