Issue with custom colors

I'm having some problems changing a few of the custom colors. For example, the in widgets bar on the right, I cant change the hover color so I have a black table with white text but when I hover over the table, the color turns white and blows out the text. Also, I cannot change the color of the entire comments box on blog posts. View my site below to see what I am talking about. Keep in mind it's still under construction.
