Did you change the permissions of swift/cache to 777??
Hello Satish:
Great work with Swift! How ever, I can not make the slider to work. The path seems fine and I have tried every post in the subject, changing the files you suggest in different posts, changing permissions, selecting featured category, upgrading, etc. I cannot find any post I have not followed already. Could you please help? My site is wwww.ganhardinheiroautomatico.com
Thank you!
Alfonso
Did you change the permissions of swift/cache to 777??
Yes, I changed 777 to this folder:
/wp-content/themes/swift/cache
Is that the correct route?
Thank you
Alfonso
post your error log here, if your hosting provides cpanel then it can be found on your doamin admin page.
If you cant understand what I'm saying, contact your hosting support. They will help you.
Thanks Satish:
There are no error logs in the cpanel. No error messages are displayed in the website. The only thing is that there is a broken icon picture instead of the images. If I open the broken icon URL, I get a 404 page. This is the URL:
http://www.ganhardinheiroautomatico.com/wp-content/themes/swift/timthumb.php?src=http://www.ganhardinheiroautomatico.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/julie-powell-4.jpg&h=160&w=273&zc=1
If I open the image url, I can see the image
http://www.ganhardinheiroautomatico.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/julie-powell-4.jpg
File timthumb.php is in 775 permission.
Thanks a lot!
Alfonso
Sorry, timthumb is in 755 permision, not 775.
hiya, i had similar problem. Solved it by doing the 777 thing and then manually putting the image url in to custom fields.
Go to custom fields, select 'image', then copy and paste the url of the image and click 'add custom field'.
once u do that, save ur post, clear ur browser cache, then hey presto should be solved
Thanks for the recommendation! I tried that too and it's not working. I saw another post regarding timthumb.php and tried changing the image's url in the custom field (basically erasing the domain part, from http to .com) and it did not work.
I found out that hostgator does not allow 777 permissions, because they represent a security risk. Instead, they encourage to use 775 to prevent hacking. The only folder I know that requires 777 is the cache folder, right? Any ideas? Thank you!
Alfonso
Problem solved. I am pasting the e-mail here so you can see what I did exactly:

I need my timthumb.php file to work, so it can display this image with this route:
http://www.ganhardinheiroautomatico.com/wp-content/themes/swift/timthumb.php?src=http://www.ganhardinheiroautomatico.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/julie-powell-4.jpg&h=160&w=273&zc=1
The image's url works fine, here is the address:
http://www.ganhardinheiroautomatico.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/julie-powell-4.jpg
I am supposed to put 777 permissions to the cache folder here:
http://www.ganhardinheiroautomatico.com/wp-content/themes/swift/cache/
Anything you can do to make it work?
Thanks

So, I got this answer:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<
Your website was hitting two mod_security rules:
(not displayed for security reasons, hehe)
I have also identified a permissions issue with the domain name and fixed it. After fixing the permissions, the thumbnail appears to be loading correctly. Please let me know if you have any more questions or concerns.

I hope it helps others too. Thanks Satish and theconservativeblog!
A general tip to all,
Answers to most of your questions lie in the error log.
Believe me, if you read it carefully you can easily fix all your problem.
