correct image size for an image to show fully in the slider?

Hello,

Does anyone know what size an image has to be in order to have it appear in the slider without extra space?

I have two images- both at 300x300, and one of them seems too big and shows the center only, and the other is too small and shows the whole image with much white space.

If you are using the full slider I believe its 576 x 280

The lite is 250 x 130

Correct me if I am wrong anyone...
