Hello Swiftlers,
I started working on v5.0, there are going to be lot of features than you can imagine. I would like to release it with a new logo and a mascot for Swiftlers. I need your help with some graphics and logo. I would appreciate if you can spare some time.
What you will get in return?
If your logo is selected you will get a back link from v5.0 release post and the credits page, apart from the back link you can choose anyone of the following.
- Customization of SWIFT on one of your blog or
- 20$ in cash via paypal.
I know 20$ is very less for what I’m asking but, that is what I can afford at the moment.
Here are what I’m looking for
Logo
I want the logo to be simple, memorable,versatile and appropriate.
- Any colour scheme of your choice, I will build the theme based on the logo
- Soft colours with clean and simple look
- Ideal aspect ratio 4:1
- Easily describable, like the clock in the current logo represent the quick load time of SWIFT theme
- It should be memorable
- It should be effective in black and grey scale only
- It should be scalable, so that it can be used any where

Simple and Memorable, I'm not sure how it looks on a different background and in grayscale.
Though the aspect ratio doesnt match my requirements, we can position the text next to the circle.
Meets all the above said requirements.
Versatile, text can be positioned next to image.

I need a mascot representing Swiftlers. I don’t have clear idea of what exactly I need at the moment. May be we can have something like the woo ninja. If you have a good idea pleases post in comments.
If you are not a designer but have some good idea for the logo, please feel to share it.

If thats all you can afford then you CANNOT afford this job. Designers should not even entertain you on this ridiculous project. Would you go into a shop and pick up a product then say I cant afford this but still want it at reduced price?
I have an idea why dont you go find a job and save till you can afford to pay a respectable amount for peoples hard work.
Why do you bother?
Nice logos out there. But i did not like the font if none of the above. You guys should use a Web 2.0 fonts, and symbols — My opinion, remember.

Since the web is crazy about bird icons (twetter), our mascot can be the spine-tailed swift. Fastest bird in the world in level flight.
Only problem is it’s black, not very attractive.

My sister and her friends who are actually creating a website using your theme saw this post and had mentioned having an idea. Not sure if you’re still looking or not though.
And knowing my sister and her friends…they’re college girls getting degrees in marketing, haha. They might want to drop their current developer and make an exchange, logo for your help developing their site. They do have cool ideas though sometimes… Actually they might have even talked to you about hiring you, they were looking for a web guy a few weeks ago but I think they found someone on campus that could cover what they wanted.. Not sure.
